The Abbotsford Connect Planning Committee is looking for volunteers !

The Abbotsford Connect Planning Committee is looking for
community members who would like to volunteer at the
annual, community inspired Abbotsford Connect event on
Saturday, October 18th.

Abbotsford Connect is a one-day service event where service providers, local businesses, community and provincial agencies and faith based organizations collaborate to deliver services and supports to individuals experiencing homelessness and to those who are at risk of homelessness. It is held as a “one-stop shop” for people that might not otherwise get the service connections they need. These services include and are not limited to: foot care, haircuts, medical care, clothing exchange and a myriad of mental health and wellness services. In addition, the Connect event provides all attendees with an opportunity to connect and enjoy hot and nutritious meals (breakfast and lunch) in a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment. The event is organized and directed by a Planning Committee represented by over 20 community agencies and partners. Additionally, the event is serviced by local community providers and staffed by enthusiastic and passionate volunteers. Volunteers are essential to Abbotsford Connect events! With more than 30+ service providers providing supports to an animated 350 guests and visitors, we have a number of volunteer roles that must be filled to ensure the Connect event is a valuable and memorable experience. If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please see the list of volunteering opportunities below and send an email outlining your contact information, position requested and a letter of interest to alison@vibrantabbotsford.ca. We thank you for considering this opportunity to partner with us.
